Brand assets
The name
RIVER stands for Raft-Integrated Validated Event Runtime, the pipeline runtime the project is named after (runtime/README.md). In prose the project is always Runink River, never a bare “River”: that name belongs to an unrelated Wayland compositor.
The logo
The Runink River logo is the Runink River dog, the mascot for Runink River and the people who build on it: the Runink herding dog as a brown-and-white puppy, grinning over the front of a three-log raft on its way down the river. Its dark outline and cream and brown fills carry it on light and dark grounds alike, so it needs no badge or background of its own. The same drawing is the mark on every surface of Runink River: the boot menu, the boot and sign-in screens (where the raft bobs on the water), the desktop, the icons and the terminal greeting. At 24 pixels and below, where the whole puppy closes up, the small form frames just its head. Leave clear space around the logo of at least a quarter of its width; never recolour or stretch it, and use the small form rather than a crop of your own.

Headlines and the tagline are set in Playfair Display Italic, text in Figtree, code in Fira Code (all SIL Open Font License 1.1).

The logo and the mascot are Runink brand assets. “Runink”, the Runink logo and the Runink
River logo are Runink trademarks. All rights reserved: no licence is granted to copy, change
or share these files, or to use the marks, except as part of unchanged Runink River releases
built and published by Runink, or with Runink’s written permission. The licences that cover
the rest of Runink River do not apply to them
(NOTICE,
docs/LICENSING.md). A
community build replaces them. To ask for permission, write to paes@runink.org.
